On a phone, use a compact, dismissible capture pattern that leaves the page’s primary task available. Do not cover the first useful screen with a promotional form or make closing it a precision task.
Small screens magnify interruption cost: the dialog, keyboard, browser controls, and page compete for the same space. Google Search Central recommends unintrusive dialogs that preserve access to content and suggests small banners instead of full-page promotional interstitials.[1] Shopify Forms exposes popup layout, trigger, and display controls,[2] but those settings still need rendered-device QA.
