Use richer media only when motion or rotation adds evidence
Choose video or a 360-degree view when still images cannot efficiently answer a material product question.
Skip this if Products whose material visual questions are already answered by a concise still-image set
Use video when motion, sequence, sound, or demonstration answers a material product question. Use a 360-degree view when controlled rotation reveals form, construction, or connection points that a concise still-image set cannot show efficiently.
Richer media is not automatically richer evidence. It costs production time, adds page weight and controls, and can bury the answer inside playback. Baymard's product-video research supports placing video where shoppers can find it as part of the product-media experience.[1] Shopify supports several product media types, but display behavior depends on the active theme.[2]
