Keep a sticky header only when it earns the viewport
Decide whether persistent navigation is worth the space, obstruction, and interaction conflicts it creates.
Skip this if Storefronts whose header never becomes fixed or sticky
A sticky header must earn the screen space it occupies. Keep it only when persistent access to navigation, search, account, or cart materially helps the store's real shopping journeys and the header does not cover content or collide with other fixed controls.
There is no responsible universal winner. A compact header can shorten the route to search or cart on a long page. A tall one can turn a phone into a narrow viewing slot. Announcement bars, cookie controls, chat launchers, sticky add-to-cart bars, browser chrome, and the device safe area may all compete for the same edges.
