Show unit pricing wherever packs compete
Give shoppers one consistent price basis on product cards and product pages when package sizes differ.
Skip this if Products that are not sold in differing quantities, weights, volumes, lengths, or areas
When shoppers compare two pack sizes, make the price basis comparable. Show a unit price beside the selling price on every product card and product page where quantity, weight, volume, length, or area differs.
The decision is not whether to add another number to every card. It is whether the package size prevents a shopper from comparing value directly. A four-pack and a twelve-pack may have clear selling prices while still forcing the shopper to calculate price per item. Baymard observed this calculation burden in testing of multiquantity products and recommends displaying the unit price.[1]
