Show result counts for list and boolean filters

Show the match count beside each list or boolean filter value, handle zero-count choices before shoppers reach an empty state, and leave price range out of the rule.

Skip this if

  • Stores with a single small collection and no filters, where the decision does not exist yet
  • marketer-becoming-operator: this is storefront execution with little to pitch or reason from

Open a filter-enabled collection on your phone. Select one list or boolean value, then inspect the choices that remain. If an inactive option shows zero matches but can still be selected, or the visible counts do not respond to the selection, the interaction needs correction.

The decision: show the current match count beside every list and boolean filter value. Hide inactive zero-count values or leave them visible but unavailable. Price range is outside this rule because Shopify does not return a per-value count for that filter type.[1]
