Offer account access after the order
Let a B2C shopper complete checkout first, then offer account access using information already supplied.
Skip this if B2B, wholesale, gated, or entitlement-based purchases that legitimately require identity before checkout
For a standard B2C purchase, let the shopper finish the order before offering a route to sign in and access their account. Do not insert optional account sign-in into checkout.
This is different from allowing guest checkout. Guest checkout removes the pre-purchase authentication requirement. Post-purchase account access decides when to explain the value and how to avoid asking for information the shopper already supplied.
