Use address autocomplete without trapping manual entry
Reduce address entry work with qualified suggestions while preserving review, correction, and manual fallback.
Skip this if Checkout environments where the platform or market does not support a qualified suggestion provider
Start with Shopify's native checkout address autocomplete when its current country coverage includes the store's served markets. It is available to all Shopify merchants and active by default; manual entry remains available when the feature is inactive or unsupported.[2] Use a third-party checkout app only when the default service is unsuitable.
Autocomplete reduces typing by turning a partial address into a selectable suggestion. It does not prove deliverability, identify an apartment, or replace the shopper's knowledge. Baymard's checkout research supports fully automatic address lookup and identifies typing errors as a problem the pattern can reduce.[1]
