Structure the account menu around customer tasks
Make orders, profile details, addresses, and available self-service actions predictable from every account page.
Skip this if Stores that do not expose customer accounts
Structure the account menu around the tasks customers return to complete, not the names of internal systems. Orders, profile, addresses, available credit or subscriptions, and a discoverable sign-out path should stay predictable from every account page.
An account is usually visited with a job already in mind: find an order, check status, update an address, start a return, change a payment method, or buy again. The menu should expose those destinations without making the customer decode the platform or app that owns them. Shopify customer accounts can expose profile and order information and can be extended with account blocks and additional features.[1]
