A ratings summary should help a shopper answer three questions: How many people rated this product? How are those ratings distributed? What do the critical reviews actually say?
Do not use one average as a verdict. The same average can hide very different patterns, and no universal score separates a good product from a bad one. Product category, intended use, review count, recency, variant mix, and the substance of the comments all change the interpretation.
