Check for device handoff before diagnosing mobile conversion

Separate a broken mobile journey from shoppers who research on one device and complete on another.

Skip this if Pre-launch stores without customer activity or stores with no device-level journey evidence

Do not label a lower mobile conversion rate as a mobile UX failure until you check whether shoppers start on mobile and finish elsewhere.

Cross-device handoff is one possible explanation, not a default excuse. A 2018 study of one cross-border ecommerce platform analyzed a four-day clickstream dataset and found users tended to explore products on mobile and read product detail on desktop.[1] That result does not establish the pattern for every store. It does show why device conversion alone cannot identify the mechanism.
