Choose an editorial-style format for a specific explanation or comparison job, disclose its commercial nature, and keep a direct route to product truth.
An advertorial or listicle is useful when the shopper needs context before the normal product pitch makes sense. It is not a costume for making an ad look like independent journalism.
The decision: use an editorial-style pre-sell page only when you can name the understanding job it performs before the shopper reaches the product or offer. Otherwise, use the more direct destination.
