Reassure by resolving a specific concern

Place one verified fact beside the request or action that creates uncertainty instead of adding generic trust language.

Use reassurance microcopy only to resolve a specific concern created by the adjacent request or action. State one verified fact at the decision point. Do not decorate every CTA with “safe,” “secure,” or “risk-free.”

Reassurance works through explanation. A shopper asked for surprising personal information may wonder why the store needs it or how it will be used. Baymard’s research on phone fields supports explaining the need, making the field optional, or removing it rather than leaving the request unexplained.[1] The same operating rule applies beyond phone numbers: first remove unjustified friction, then explain what remains.
