Return shoppers to the same product-list state
Preserve filters, page or loaded items, and scroll position when a shopper returns from a product.
Skip this if Lists that never exceed one short viewport
When a shopper opens a product and returns, restore the list they left: the same filters, sort, page or loaded-item set, and scroll position near the product card. Restoring only the scroll offset is not enough if the list itself changed.
Baymard observed shoppers becoming disoriented and repeating work when Back returned them to the top of a product list.[1] Its research covers pagination, load-more, and endless-scroll patterns. It does not prescribe one storage architecture for every theme.
