Explain gifting before the shopper commits

Show whether an item can be sent as a gift and state the options, costs, and downstream behavior before add to cart.

Skip this if Stores that do not offer gift ordering or whose products cannot be transferred to a recipient

If an item can be bought as a gift, say so on the product page and let the shopper inspect the material options before add to cart. Do not make checkout reveal whether wrapping, a message, or price hiding exists.

Gift buyers are choosing both a product and a delivery experience for another person. Uncertainty about packaging, prices on paperwork, timing, and the recipient address changes whether the product is suitable. Baymard’s gifting research supports showing gifting availability on the PDP and clarifying the available services and costs.[1]
