Let consent define the measurement boundary
Inventory data collection, enforce the approved privacy decision, and interpret attribution within the coverage that remains.
Let the approved consent and privacy decision define what the store collects. Then interpret attribution inside that coverage. Do not weaken consent controls to make dashboards look more complete.
Shopify's privacy settings can manage policies, cookie banners, and data-sharing opt-out controls, but Shopify states that automated settings are not a substitute for legal advice and that merchants must verify the configuration against their practices.[1] Its Customer Privacy API exposes whether preference, analytics, marketing, attribution, and data-sharing processing are allowed under merchant settings, visitor location, and consent.[2]
