Use lightweight usability testing to find task friction

Watch likely shoppers attempt one realistic task, separate observation from interpretation, and avoid turning a small qualitative round into a prevalence claim.

Skip this if Decisions that require prevalence, benchmark, or causal-effect estimates

Run a lightweight moderated usability round when the decision is where and why a shopper struggles with a task. Use another method when you need to know how common the problem is, how large its effect is, or whether a change caused a business result.

Moderated testing means watching actual or likely users attempt specific tasks while a facilitator listens and asks neutral follow-ups.[1] The output is a set of observed friction points and hypotheses, not a conversion forecast.
