Set delivery expectations you can keep

Publish a delivery expectation grounded in actual fulfillment performance, then monitor whether the promise remains defensible.

Shipping cost answers "what will this add to my total." Delivery timing answers a different question: "when do I get it." In Baymard's 2026 survey of 1,083 US adults who had shopped online in the prior three months, 20% selected slow delivery as a reason they had abandoned an online purchase in that period. Respondents could select more than one reason. "Just browsing / not ready to buy" was another response option in the same question, not a group removed from the 20%.[1]

The decision: show a delivery expectation on the product page that your operation can actually meet. Honest and rough beats precise and wrong.
